The Prologue

You will have heard of the siege of Troy

And the trials of Odysseus

But you may not know

Of the other blow

Struck on men by mighty Zeus.

The warriors bold of the Iliad

And of the Odyssey

Were set to roam

So far from home

Upon a vengeful sea.

The Danaans had provoked the Gods

Who then did vengeance crave.

But I doubt you know

Of the tale of woe

And the fate of Sam the brave.

Who then did vengeance crave.

But I doubt you know

Of the tale of woe

And the fate of Sam the brave.

But Sam is lost (or so we think)

Here's a mystery to unfold -

The terrible tale

Of when he set sail

Told by his comrade bold.

His comrade was the Bo'sun

A mariner who'd travelled far.

He'd left poor Sam,

Fought with a clam

And escaped the mighty louvar.

So sit you down and listen

To the tale the Bo'sun tells.

We can play stops

Whilst the anchor drops

And the watch tolls fifteen bells.
