On Marmosets

Eglantine the Marmoset had

twenty-seven toes.

She also was a scruffy git

and always looked morose.

Esmerelda Blenkinsop

was her father's name.

He rode a big red parachute,

and kept flies that were tame.

Eglantines yellow beard

grew underneath her chin,

But it wasn't really big enough

to keep the badgers in.

Her mother was a vagabond

who lived upon the heath,

And kept a pair of wildebeest

chained to her front teeth.

Eglantine had long blue hair

that grew down to her feet,

But she often used to wear a wig

and dress up in a sheet.
